Who was Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam?


Scientist in the field of aerospace Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam led India as its 11th president from 2002 to 2007. He studied physics and aeronautical engineering and was nurtured in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.

APJ Abdul Kalam worked as a scientist and scientific administrator for the following forty years, primarily at the Indian Space Research Organization and the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) (ISRO). Additionally, he played a key role in developing India's military missile programme as well as its civilian space programme.
